Now, before you start worrying about me, no, her production company didn't start banging on my door with a cease and desist order. Nor do I expect them to. I would, however, like to get her express permission to show the photos, and am currently working to get that. Given the way she was playing the camera while onstage, I doubt it will be difficult.
How am I going about this? Well, at the moment I have two options. The first is that I am going to attempt e-mailing her. I expect this will prove to be quite fruitful, and am hoping that I can get in touch with her soon.
My more desired method, however, would be to meet her in person, which may not be as difficult as you imagine. I am not without my contacts, and will soon be seeing New York Voices live, and may even be going to a dinner party with them or taking a workshop from them. Since Jane studied with Peter Eldrige, I'm thinking it might be possible to talk with him and get in contact with her.
In any case, all of the negatives have been uploaded, and I'm going to be working on the production of the photographs throughout Winter break. I've got nearly 100 viable negatives from the concert, at least 10 of which have shown to be relatively photogenic. Once I have permission from Jane to exhibit them, I'll have them ready to show.
On another note, I've gotten an idea for another photo project, namely a Jazz tribute. I'm thinking that while I'm at the New York Voices concert, I will likely do more shooting, as well as during the dinner party if possible. If possible, I'm thinking of doing a portrait series of Jazz vocalists. It may be too large an undertaking now, but we'll see what it looks like come next week.
